A.R.T. is a patented, state-of-the-art soft tissue system and movement based technique that addresses problems within muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Conditions and symptoms such as neck and back pain, athletic injuries and carpal tunnel can be resolved quickly and permanently with A.R.T. These conditions typically have one thing in common; they are often a result of overused muscles.

By mobilizing soft tissues, normal range of motion can be restored by reducing muscle spasm and scar tissue that develops at injury sites. We ensure all of our athletes achieve peak athletic performance. For this to happen, you must have proper conditioning, balance, stability, and range of motion of all joints. Many injuries are simply caused by imbalances resulting from previous injury or decreased conditioning.

Active Release Technique has been developed, refined, and patented by P. Michael Leahy, DC, CCSP. Dr. Leahy noticed that his patients’ symptoms seemed to be related to changes in their soft tissue that could be felt by hand. By observing how muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments, and nerves responded to different types of work, Dr. Leahy was able to consistently resolve over 90% of his patients’ problems. Being one of the few practices to offer A.R.T. in Arlington, Texas, our doctors have utilized Dr. Leahy’s strategy when working with the PGA Tour, elite runners, tennis professionals, pro and semi-pro baseball players, college volleyball coaches, and multiple select sports teams. Our evaluation and treatment strategies give us the edge to work with athletes and individuals of all ages and find real solutions through individualized treatment to help restore function and eliminate pain.

Active Release is also good for occupational or other injuries.  Some common examples are:

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Sciatica
  • Text Neck
  • Tendonitis
  • Rotator Cuff
  • Hip Pain
  • Bursitis
  • Neck and Back Pain
